Ultrasound Tech, Breast Center, Part Time, Day

Reporting to and functioning under the general supervision of the Supervisor, the Ultrasound Technologist prepares for and operates ultrasound equipment following specific physicians' orders. Produces detailed computer-generated scans of patients for imaging of the breast, verifies patient identification prior to scan, selects patients from work list, ensures exam is archived on the PACS. Maintains facilities in proper order. Must keep abreast of all new departmental imaging.

Performs a variety of ultrasound, color Doppler exams, and assists the radiologist with various invasive procedures.

Completion from an accredited ultrasound program and ARDMS registered, or registry eligible required. Breast certification required.

Registered ultrasound technologist or registry eligible technologist with one to two years' experience as an ultrasound technologist preferred. Must obtain registry within one (1) year of employment.

• Full range of body motion including stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing and pulling.
• Physical dexterity to operate sensitive ultrasound equipment and to perform a variety of ultrasound exams on patients.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and vascular systems.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly.
• Manual and finger dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work accurately, pay attention to details, manage time, and operate under stressful conditions.
• Team collaboration across multidisciplinary health system members (MDs, Rehab, Respiratory, DI, Laboratory, etc.).

Pay Range: $40.28 - $50.36 per hour
