Responsibilities- Excellent customer service: respect, flexibility, knowledge, confidence, professionalism, pleasant attitude, patience and helpfulness. All responses should be timely, professional, caring, and respectful in accordance with Customer Service Performance expectations.
- Greet and provide direction to all patients and visitors in the division and ensure they report to the correct Registration area.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Assist all patients with check-in and registration.
- Track waiting time of patients from arrival to registration and escalate any backlog to management to improve the overall patient experience.
- Assist with mailing appointment letters and no-show letters.
- Perform crowd control to ensure patients wait in designated areas after check-in and proceed to the post-service scheduling area when ready to check out.
- Maintain record-keeping and regular reporting of departmental KPIs related to check-in, registration, and check-out times.
- Perform a variety of clerical tasks (e.g., photocopying, simple registrations, etc.).
- Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards. Assess gaps in policies and procedures and create necessary policies to address them.
- Understand and adhere to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct and be familiar with the Medical Center’s Mission, Vision, and Values Statements.
- Effectively utilize the hospital computer system as it pertains to job responsibilities and in accordance with hospital policy.
- Report problems to the Patient Access Manager, Assistant Manager, or Ambulatory Service Center Administrator.
- Attend monthly staff meetings.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Education:
High school graduation or equivalent required. - Experience:
One year of receptionist experience preferred in a health care facility. - Skills:
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment; ability to diffuse difficult situations; good oral and written communication skills; good interpersonal skills; speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position; bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred.
Office setting. Mainly sedentary with some reaching, stooping, bending, stretching, crouching, kneeling.
SalarySalary commensurate with experience within posted range: $33,737.60-$43,670.00 per year.
