Role Description
This is a full‑time hybrid role for an Attorney, with a primary location in Paramus, NJ. The Land Use Attorney will advise clients on land use, zoning, and development matters, guiding projects through regulatory and entitlement processes. The role involves representing developers, property owners, municipalities, and investors before local, state, and federal agencies to obtain approvals, resolve disputes, and ensure compliance with applicable land use laws.
Key Responsibilities- Advise clients on zoning, land use, environmental, and planning laws
- Prepare and submit land use applications, permits, variances, and rezonings
- Represent clients before planning commissions, zoning boards, city councils, and administrative agencies
- Negotiate development agreements, conditional use permits, and annexation agreements
- Conduct due diligence related to land acquisition and development feasibility
- Draft and review legal documents, including ordinances, resolutions, and development contracts
- Coordinate with planners, engineers, environmental consultants, and government officials
- Monitor changes in land use regulations and advise clients on compliance and strategy
