About the Role
New Bridge Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide compassionate nursing care in a diverse, inclusive environment.
Responsibilities- Collects data from patients, families, or significant others and records on Initial Data Base form.
- Conducts 24‑hour nursing assessments and provides data to RN for MDS inclusion.
- Contributes to the formulation and updating of the plan of care and implements it under RN direction.
- Provides direct nursing care to assigned patients, including medications, treatments, dressing changes, resident care, and vital sign monitoring.
- Recognizes changes in patient condition, responds appropriately, and notifies charge nurse as needed.
- Documents pertinent information regarding patient responses and nursing interventions in the medical record.
- Administers medication according to hospital policies and monitors age‑specific data such as meds and lab results.
- Applies principles of infection control and safety during patient care.
- Communicates effectively with charge nurse and other members of the health‑care team regarding patient needs or changes in condition.
- Responds appropriately in crisis situations and is able to prioritize care.
- Reports significant unit problems to the charge nurse.
- Assumes charge responsibilities in the absence of the charge nurse and complies with all regulatory agencies.
- Participates in patient teaching and nursing research activities (CQI).
- Provides customer service with professionalism, courtesy, and patience.
- Maintains departmental policies, quality‑assurance programs, safety, environmental, and infection‑control standards.
- Orients patients and families to the environment and develops rapport with them.
- Orients LPNs, Nursing Aides, and Certified Nurse Aides as required.
- Utilizes hospital computer system for job responsibilities in accordance with policy.
- Participates on unit committees and CQI activities, patient care conferences, and staff development activities.
- Assists other personnel as needed.
- Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing or equivalent education.
- Current New Jersey Licensed Practical Nurse license.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
- IV Certification required.
- Med pass, dressing change, and other clinical nursing skills appropriate for an LPN.
- Successful completion of Progressive Care Orientation Program.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- English language proficiency sufficient for the position.
- All patient care areas; contact with patients, visitors, staff.
- Frequent prolonged standing/walking.
- Lifts, positions, pushes, and/or transfers patients.
- Wears protective clothing: face shield, gloves, impermeable gown, particulate respirator.
Salary: $33.22–$39.42 per hour; differentials: evening $1.60, night $1.70, weekend $1.00. Benefits include medical, dental, vision plans, generous time‑off policy, ten paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, and continuing education programs.
