Job Duties- Assessment
:
Identifies and documents initial observations, systematically assesses nursing needs, selects, plans, evaluates, and documents care, initiates referrals, and meets educational, psychosocial, and discharge planning needs. - Direct Patient Care
:
Provides comprehensive patient care, initiates and follows through with patient and family teaching, documents response to treatment, and completes admissions, discharges, and groups in the electronic medical record. - Indirect Patient Care Activities
:
Participates in interdisciplinary rounds, applies infection control principles, adheres to the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct, and maintains a customer‑service mindset focused on timely, professional, and respectful interactions. - Other Duties
:
Orients patients, assists in quality data collection, utilizes hospital computer systems, supports emergency codes, attends unit meetings, and performs related duties as assigned to support departmental objectives.
- Current NJ licensure as RN.
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and IV Therapy certification.
- One year behavioral health experience preferred with focus on admissions, discharges, and group management related to Depressive Disorders and Self‑Harm behaviors.
- Clinical nursing skills for an experienced behavioral health RN.
- Good oral and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills.
- Speaks, reads, and writes English to the extent required by the position.
Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing with a BSN required.
Job Setting/Physical DemandsBehavioral Health Service Units – frequent prolonged standing/walking. Protective clothing worn: face shield, gloves, impermeable gown when required for infection control protocol; otherwise, behavioral health dress code; presentable street clothes.
Ability to work semi‑independently under the supervision of NM/ADNs.
Salary$46.94–$66.43/Hour.
Differentials: WEEKEND $2.25 PER HR; EVENING DIFF 10%; NIGHT 12%/CHARGE PAY $2.25 PER HR.
