Position: RN/ LPN CLINIC LEAD - UROLOGY

Position Summary

The urology lead works directly with clinical staff and the outpatient clinic manager to ensure that clinic patients receive high quality care while demonstrating the organization's mission, vision, and values.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities/Accountabilities)
  • Assists with the flow of patients throughout the department to ensure timely patient expectations are met, intervening for busy practice times and/or complex procedures; assigns staffing assignments daily; writes necessary protocols and develops/maintains workflows.
  • Documents all patient and telephone transactions concisely, descriptively, accurately, legibly and completely, while providing excellent service.
  • Applies critical thinking to complex situations to resolve patient needs and acts as a resource for conflict resolution.
  • Models and leads quality customer service by being helpful, friendly, and professional with patients, providers, visitors, and employees; may be asked to stay after hours on a rotational basis.
  • Facilitates communication with the clinical team and management team, assisting staff with use of established systems for maintenance, IS, CI, housekeeping, and safety concern reporting.
  • Participates in department meetings or committee work including taking meeting minutes and potentially leading/facilitating/organizing as assigned; works to help develop service line scorecard.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned, including but not limited to new employee orientation, staff competencies, and working with quality nurse and nursing manager to implement quality improvement efforts.
  • Assists in budget process, quotes, estimated patient visits, departmental FTE, etc. which may include calculating needs.
  • Serves as an educational resource to ensure patient education was adequately provided and any questions answered.
  • Employs regulatory standards that ensures sound infection control processes are utilized at all times in the department.
  • Assists with inventory and requests of routine office supplies.
  • Assists with implementation and ongoing monitoring of standards and quality assurance activities, refrigerator temps, device certification, etc. to maintain regulatory readiness.
  • Facilitates weekly team huddle and demonstrates through leadership and example.
  • Assists with enforcement of policies, including in moment correction.
  • Acts as “point person” in regard to provider schedules, CME hours, marketing requests and management/scheduling of Urology Reps; will act as first line of service recovery.
  • Collaborates with other departments as needed to create seamless care for patients.
Position Requirements
  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Illinois nursing license; willing to obtain Indiana license if practice expands.
  • Current BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Previous surgical and/or urology experience required.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform complex and varied tasks in a fast‑paced work environment subject to stress and interruption.
  • Demonstrates leadership through positive interactions and diplomacy regarding conflict resolution and dealing with sensitive issues.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft products and EHR.

Pay Rate

Range: $24.556/hour – $39.290/hour (rate based on applicable years of experience)
