Job SummaryEnsure products manufactured in the organization fit their purpose and meet customer expectations. Maintain consistent quality through the development and enforcement of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) systems, process validation, documentation, and staff management. Coordinate and control production within the facility while meeting safety and conduct standards.
Responsibilities- Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by providing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality and customer service standards; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements.
- Develop quality assurance plans by conducting hazard analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits, monitoring procedures, corrective actions and verification procedures; monitoring inventories.
- Validate quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
- Maintain and improve product quality by completing product, company, system compliance and surveillance audits; investigating customer complaints; collaborating with management to develop new product, engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods.
- Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, stability studies, recalls, corrective actions and re-validations.
- Update job knowledge by studying trends, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and professional organization participation.
- Enhance department reputation by accepting ownership of new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations, including interviewing, hiring and training employees, planning and directing work, appraising performance, disciplining employees and addressing complaints.
- Develop and provide training and communication for food safety and quality requirements.
- Maintain SOPs, manuals, policies and procedures related to food safety.
- Manage facility food safety audits and third‑party audits.
- Monitor and verify that all products meet food safety and quality standards.
- Update food safety procedures and documentation to reflect changing requirements.
- Lead site food safety initiatives.
- Assist buyers with training and educating potential suppliers.
- Collaborate with Operations Manager and General Manager on food safety or quality assurance issues.
- Support proper maintenance and sanitation of all facilities to comply with food safety requirements.
- Ensure all company food safety and quality assurance procedures are followed and documented correctly.
- Must adhere to all required safety protocols.
- Conduct oneself in a safe manner.
The role requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, use of hands and fingers, and clear verbal and auditory ability.
Work EnvironmentTypical office environment with occasional work on the manufacturing floor. Noise level is usually high; use of safety PPE such as glasses, hearing protection and hair/beard nets is required.
