Patient Care Technician – Da Vita

DaVita is seeking a Patient Care Technician who is eager to provide life‑saving care in an outpatient dialysis center. You will help patients with end‑stage renal failure or chronic kidney disease in a compassionate and empathetic way – the care you wish you would receive.

Some Details About This Position
  • No dialysis experience is required.
  • Training may take place in a facility or a training clinic other than your assigned home clinic.
  • Potential to float to various clinics during and after your training.
  • You must have a flexible schedule and be able to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
What You Can Expect
  • Direct patient care – spend the majority of your day in direct one‑on‑one patient care to provide safe, comfortable and hygienic dialysis treatment.
  • Care for multiple patients throughout the day.
  • Technician duties – monitor patients before, during and after dialysis treatment, including measuring and recording stats, patient observations, and hemodialysis machine setup. Exposure to blood and needles is required.
  • Build long‑term relationships with patients suffering from end‑stage renal disease who receive treatment on average three times per week and educate them on kidney dialysis topics.
  • Work under the supervision of a registered nurse in a cross‑functional team that includes nurses, dietitians, social workers and leadership.

Requirements
  • Desire to enter the health care field to care for other people in need.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfortable working around blood and needles.
  • Comfortable mixing acid or bicarbonate.
  • Physical and mental ability to work long hours (some shifts are 12+ hours) on your feet; comfortable shoes required.
  • Willingness to train and work across multiple clinics within the territory as needed.
  • Health care experience a plus, including BONENT Certified, Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Phlebotomy certification.
