Job Title: General Surgery Physician

Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate General Surgery Physician to support our hospital's surgical department. This role involves participating in weekend call coverage, primarily handling emergency room (ER) cases, inpatient procedures, with potential outpatient responsibilities. The position offers the chance to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment, ensuring patients receive timely and effective surgical care. Weekend call shifts are scheduled twice a month, from 7 am Friday to 7 am Monday, offering a flexible schedule for committed practitioners.

Preference will be given to candidates residing within driving distance to facilitate prompt response times.

Required Skills:
  • Board-certified or eligible in General Surgery
  • Valid medical license in the state of practice
  • Proven experience in ER and inpatient surgical procedures
  • Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making capabilities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle emergencies
Nice to Have Skills:
  • Prior experience with outpatient surgical procedures
  • Familiarity with hospital EMR systems
  • Bilingual proficiency to serve diverse patient populations
Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 2 years of surgical practice, preferably in a hospital setting
  • Previous experience covering hospital call responsibilities
Other Requirements:
  • Availability for weekend call shifts twice per month
  • Willingness to participate in on-call duties related to emergency and inpatient care
  • Ability to respond promptly to urgent surgical needs
  • Own reliable transportation within driving distance of the hospital premises
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS)
