This is a highly responsible position that includes training to operate, monitor and control activities of the City of Paris Wastewater Treatment Plant as assigned by the Plant Superintendent.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Collects and analyzes wastewater samples from all phases of the wastewater treatment process using established procedures. Operates and maintains various types of pumps, valves, chemical feeders and all equipment associated with the plant and maintains accurate operational records. The operator-in-training will learn to perform operation and maintenance of all aspects of the wastewater treatment plant. Works rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

High School diploma or GED. The selected applicant will be required to obtain a Class “D” & “C” Wastewater Treatment Operator licenses from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality within twelve (12) months of hire date; failure to complete this requirement will result in separation from employment. Must have the ability to perform essential job functions. Must possess a valid Texas Class “C” driver’s license.
