The successful Assistant Project Manager will strive to enhance their expertise and abilities consistently, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work in a safe manner, adhering to production schedules, and integrating UMC's Vision, Mission, and Core Values.

APM Pay Range (Hourly):

Hourly Pay:$25.00 - $35.00/ Hourly depending on experience

Assistant Project Manager Responsibilities and Duties (Essential Job Functions)
  • Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules and timelines.
  • Assist in the preparation of Submittals, RFIs, and Change Orders by gathering necessary documents, product specifications, material samples, and ensuring that all documents meet UMC submission standards.
  • Collaborate with project GC and subcontractors (other trades) to ensure alignment with project plans.
  • Address conflicts or delays involving subcontractors, vendors or internal teams, and elevate unresolved issues.
  • Maintain open communication channels between Vendors, subcontractors, customers, and the internal project team.
  • Monitor progress, elevate issues, and provide updates to the Project Manager.
  • Attend regular team meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and goals.
  • Foster cross-departmental collaboration by sharing insights and updates.
  • Track equipment/rental inventory and usage to prevent delays in equipment access or idle equipment rentals.
  • Cross-reference take-offs with design plans to ensure accuracy. (Matrix Buildouts)
  • Regularly update matrixes to reflect project changes or equipment substitutions.
  • Ensure that all subcontractor certifications, licenses, and insurance documents are up to date.
  • Facilitate the issuance and recording of purchase orders and material procurement (MR's) and issuing Purchase Order Change Orders when required. Ensure all Purchase Orders are costed accurately.
  • Track material and fixture Purchase Orders through the process from submission through fulfillment. Monitoring and managing any in-process orders for issues or delays.
  • Communicate Wholesaler/Vendor issues to the appropriate department.
  • Assist in preparing financial summaries for project budgeting and forecasting.
  • Assist in preparing job specific progress payment applications ensuring alignment with contracts and submitting them for approval.
  • Maintain comprehensive project files, including contracts, RFIs, change orders, and as-builts, Bids & Quotes, etc.
  • Ensure that Plans & Specifications & all appropriate documents are kept up to date with the latest revisions.
Assistant Project Manager Qualifications
  • Must have a high school diploma, or General Equivalency Diploma, or GED.
  • Must have a willingness to commute.
    This is for an Onsite position out of Park City, UT
  • Must have 1-3 years of recent hands‑on experience supporting project management tasks in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
  • Must support UMC's Vision, Mission, and Core Value statements, demonstrate a high degree of integrity and maintain the confidentiality of personnel and business information.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordination with internal teams and vendors.
  • Ability to learn construction processes, systems, and company standards quickly.
