We are looking for a Regional Sales Manager to join our dynamic Special Markets sales team to drive growth of our Vending channel for the Western U.S. region. Reporting to the Vice President, Sales - Special Markets this Regional Sales Manager will lead and grow sales and profits across several states by working with vending clients. The manager will support the team with a strong focus on customers to improve company results.
Lead the growth using customer insights, building good relationships with retailers, wholesalers, and brokers, and work closely with customers to achieve success.
- Manage vending accounts to promote PIM fruit snacks and confectionery brands as preferred options.
- Look for new distribution opportunities with contacts that can help grow sales in a profitable way.
- Create annual programs, promotions, and planograms with partners to support PIM Brands.
- Build positive relationships with key contacts that help PIM grow across different parts of the business.
- Support brokers in carrying out PIM initiatives and meeting yearly goals.
- Set sales objectives by working with brokers to create sales plans that align with national goals.
- Carry out channel and customer strategies that follow the overall sales direction.
- Drive broker reviews to highlight focus areas and share guidance that supports PIM growth.
- Participate in customer reviews to understand their business and suggest solutions that benefit both them and PIM Brands.
- Help manage trade funding budgets, promotional plans, and product forecasts with brokers and customers.
- Focus on resets and revisions, working with brokers and retailers to prepare and support the reset process to grow PIM’s market share.
- Prepare and present materials for clients during business reviews, planning sessions, and promotional discussions.
- 4-year bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in Sales and/or Account Management.
- 3+ years’ of sales experience in CPG food, and preferably with snack, candy or confections.
- Previous success in building and growing relationships and sales with vending channels.
- Working knowledge of customer/consumer practices with Consumer-Packaged Goods companies.
- Experience in P&L/budget management, ability to create customer specific plans that achieve customer growth goals and PIM profitability goals.
- Understanding of demand planning and customer level forecasting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to develop and deliver effective fact-based presentations in a persuasive format.
- Ability to work cross functionally with Marketing, Customer Collaboration Team, Sales, Logistics and Finance.
- Strong creative abilities and business acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to function with a high level of proficiency and accuracy in a fast-paced quick to pivot environment.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills; strong interpersonal and organization skills.
- Strong emotional intelligence skills and project management skills and ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, demonstrate initiative, motivation, problem-solving, teamwork skills, and a passion for customer development.
