Behavioral Health Technician

Overview

Action Behavior Centers is hiring Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to support children with Autism in a calm, center‑based setting. We offer a $1,000 sign‑on bonus for all registered RBTs and provide full paid training and ongoing supervision. Applicants can start immediately or within four weeks of accepting an offer.

• Apply ABA principles to help children with Autism reach their full potential by following treatment plans, collecting data, and writing insurance notes.
• Support children’s development through engaging therapeutic activities and play.
• Collaborate with a team to optimize treatment, safety, and the overall center experience.
• Engage children through play, movement, and imitation while maintaining a joyful atmosphere.
• Communicate effectively with peers, families, and supervisors to coordinate activities and celebrate successes.

• Possess the physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs, bend, squat, and move quickly to stay engaged with young children.
• Maintain a tidy, organized therapy environment that supports a stimulating experience.
• Multitask effectively, balancing actions, decisions, and safety considerations.
• Support team efforts, including occasional travel to nearby centers.
• Hold reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED equivalent.

Complete the RBT certification process within 20 days of employment by completing a 40‑hour training curriculum, hands‑on competency assessment, registering for an exam, and passing the board’s exam.

• High School/Associate: $20.00 – $24.00 per hour
• Bachelor’s: $20.00 – $25.50 per hour
• Master’s: $20.00 – $28.00 per hour

For entry‑level candidates, your first raise is earned upon certification as an RBT, typically within 21 days.

• Childcare (nanny, babysitter, preschool teacher, tutor, etc.)
• Mental health professionals and advocates
• Camp counselors, volunteers, or Sunday school teachers
• Degrees in teaching, special education, sociology, psychology, or related fields (any degree preferred)
• Experience as paraprofessionals, direct support, or life skills assistants
• Passion for working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder
