* Job Description:

* + Performs venous, capillary, urine drug screen, swab, or other specimen collection, ensuring appropriate specimen identification and type.

+ Centrifuges, aliquots, and distributes samples to appropriate testing areas, including loading samples onto various analyzers.

+ Generates and reports waived and moderate complexity test results under supervision.

+ Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots testing-related processes, equipment, and instrumentation, documenting activities as required.

+ Monitors test system performance and takes corrective action as necessary. Provides advanced troubleshooting skills and utilizes critical thinking to analyze, correlate, and interpret data.

+ Supports department compliance with laboratory accreditation and regulatory requirements.

+ Compiles and reviews laboratory information system reports to ensure timely collection, processing, and testing of samples.

+ Handles inquiries and resolves complaints related to laboratory services and information promptly and effectively.

+ Communicates critical and significant results and findings to coworkers, providers, and other departments to ensure continuity of laboratory operations and patient care.

+ Oversees day-to-day activities of department associates on assigned shifts and provides input on associate performance and recognition.

+ Coordinates training and competency assessments for new associates and students under the guidance of laboratory leadership.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.
