Store Managers are responsible for all aspects of their stores’ performance, including with respect to sales, profits, losses, personnel, organization, appearance, public relations, and security.

Note: This is a family-owned business and we are scaling to open more stores. Close collaboration required with management on day-to-day operations. When you apply, please indicate that you would be comfortable working in a closely monitored environment.

• Personnel:
  Recruits, interviews, screens, and hires, or recommends hiring of subordinate store employees; conduct initial training and ongoing training; evaluate employee performance; issue reprimands; discipline; recommend raises and promotions; enforce policies; answer questions on policies and benefits; investigate complaints; monitor turnover; explain and implement new instructions; schedule meetings; ensure proper recording of hours; comply with employment laws; conduct periodic reviews and cash audits;
  
  terminate employees when needed; prepare employees to function in absence of Manager; provide pre-employment paperwork as applicable; ensure understanding of responsibilities; weekly updates to management; report hours worked and tasks performed.
• Inventory and Merchandising:
  Ensure adequate stock; evaluate local factors; compile orders; display merchandise to maximize sales; ensure prices and codes are correct; determine markdowns or write-offs; monitor competitors; maintain clean shelves and displays; ensure freshness of beverages; train staff on plus-selling; organize back room and stock; monitor vendor activities and maintain proper stock control; resolve vendor issues; maintain stock control sheets; ensure excellent customer relations;
  
  implement merchandising programs; adjust store layout to maximize sales; discuss and resolve customer complaints; maintain coolers; minimize theft or shortages.
• Financial Reporting and Accounting:
  Prepare and evaluate daily store reports; maintain perpetual inventory; review shift, banking, sales, and other reports; analyze reports for trends and issues; approve employee time reports; prepare special reports as requested by Owner.
• General Store Operation:
  Ensure adherence to company policies; manage shift hours and staffing; post weekly schedules; allocate hours efficiently; maintain high store standards; ensure compliance with liquor, health, lottery, Sunday sales and environmental laws; ensure licenses are in force; manage expenses; maintain cash and change; maintain off-hours communication; attend Owner meetings; report via mail or fax; arrange for repairs and maintenance; ensure premises are safe for customers and employees.
• Store Security:
  Follow owner-defined security practices; maintain gasoline inventories and related procedures.
