Sales Associate / Material Handler - PT The Salvation Army Thrift Store - Parker, CO $15.87/hour
The Salvation Army Southern California is looking for a part‑time Sales Associate / Material Handler to help maintain and operate our thrift store in Parker, CO. This role requires excellent customer service, inventory handling, and teamwork to support our mission of “Do The Most Good.”

This is an opportunity to promote a positive shopping/donor experience, enhance customer service, problem‑solving and teamwork skills, while contributing to the success of our program and its participants.
Responsibilities- Greet customers and donors warmly and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
- Stock priced items ready for merchandising on the sales floor.
- Assist in maintaining the store and donation area to keep it clean, neat, and organized; perform cleaning duties as assigned by management.
- Follow all POS/Cash Register policies in accordance with TSA policies and procedures.
- Maintain safety and compliance standards.
- Attend required monthly store meetings.
- Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory items accurately and efficiently.
- Provide quality assurance by inspecting products for defects and damages.
- Assist donors with removing donated items from their vehicles and provide receipts.
- Separate and sort donated material into the proper containers; properly stack material as instructed by management.
- Perform other written and/or verbal duties as may be assigned by management.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must be 18 or older.
- Must be able to accurately handle POS/cash register operations and cash transactions.
- Must pass a background check, which will include criminal history and sex offender registry.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
- Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Our stores operate seven days per week, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Work schedules are determined by management and employees must be flexible to ensure adequate store coverage. Part‑time associates may be scheduled for any part‑time shift, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
