Position: CCT Paramedic

To provide a high level of care to critically ill patients while transporting them to healthcare facilities. Critical Care Paramedics have an expanded scope of practice allowing them to administer more medications than normal paramedics.

• Education, Certification, and/or Licensure:
• State licensure as required (e.g., WV Paramedic through the West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services).
• National registration as a paramedic as required by the state board (e.g., National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians).
• Mobile Critical Care Paramedic Certification through West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services.
• Basic Life Support Certification within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) or Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP).

• Three (3) years’ experience as a Field Paramedic.

• Provide emergency care for patients during transport between facilities.
• Maintain patient stability by assessing, monitoring, and intervening using appropriate procedures.
• Monitor chest tubes, transvenous pacemakers, and balloon pumps.
• Perform NG and OG insertions.

• Cognizant of environmental factors, infection control issues, and maintaining a safe environment.

• Knowledge of cardiac monitoring (4‑lead ECG) and interpretation of 12‑lead ECGs.
• Proficiency in tracheal intubation.
• Knowledge of ventilator settings and monitoring.
• Ability to access PICC lines for medication administration.
• Capabilities to perform rapid sequence intubation (RSI).
• Setting IV pumps for multiple medication administrations.
