The Ambulance Service Coordinator provides administrative direction to development and evaluation of all ambulance personnel, and maintains operational aspects of the patient care unit. This position also renders supportive care to the patient, sustain life at scene of accidental injury or sudden illness, during transport to the hospital and is qualified to begin corrective treatment as instructed by Medical Command Physician.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Must possess current licensure as required by state where services are being provided:
- WV:
Paramedic through West Virginia Office of Emergency Medical Services
- Nationally registered as required by state board:
- WV:
Paramedic through National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (Unless state license is State License Only (SLO)) - Valid Driver's license.
- CPR Instructor Certified.
- Two (2) years of advanced education.
- Two (2) years of clinical experience.
- Completion of Emergency Vehicle Operations Course.
- EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor through American Heart Association.
- Basic Trauma Life Support (BTLS) certification through board of International Trauma Life Support (ITLS).
