Position SummaryExercises independent discretion and judgment in claims handling involving complex liability issues, to include coverage issues and severe injury claims.

- Conduct investigations, evaluate and make recommendations regarding coverage and liability.
- Handle claims involving complex liability, damages or coverages.
- Negotiate with all parties, or their representatives, within designated authority.
- Document the file and submit reports.
- Identify subrogation opportunities and initiate appropriate action.
- Complete required training.
- Provide support for property claims during periods of heavy volume.
- Train and mentor.

Minimum Education al and Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required;
- Associates or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Five years casualty claims adjusting experience or equivalent experience in the medical or legal field required.
- Broad knowledge and expertise in the areas of liability coverages, laws and injuries required.
- Position requires incumbents to provide support for property claims during periods of heavy volume.
- Travel for training may be required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Completion of Associate in Claims (AIC) program preferred.
- Lifting/Moving 0-20 lbs;
Occasional (Lifting/Moving 20-50 lbs);
Occasional (Ability to move over 50 lbs using lifting aide equipment;
Occasional (Pushing/Pulling/moving objects, equipment with wheels;
Occasional (Climbing/accessing heights;
Rarely Driving;
Occasional (Manual Keying/Data Entry/inputting information/computer use;
Frequent (50-80%)
