Position: Overnight Child and Youth Worker Role at Taproot
Provide overnight care and support for children and youth in a therapeutic environment at Taproot Community Support Services. This role emphasizes safety, emotional support, and personal care for individuals with behavioral challenges.

As a Residential Child and Youth Worker (RCYW) at Taproot, you will work directly with youth facing significant challenges, developing and implementing personal service plans. Your responsibilities will include assessing needs, monitoring well-being, and providing essential emotional support overnight. You will be a key figure in ensuring a safe, clean living environment while advocating effectively for the individuals in your care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Attend to health and safety of persons served

• Assess and evaluate personal goals and progress

• Provide behavior management and crisis intervention

• Administer medications per established guidelines

• Maintain clear communication with care team and families

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Child and Youth Care or related field

• Minimum two years of relevant experience

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License

• CPR/First Aid and NVCI certification

• Experience with trauma-informed practices
