Casual Community Support Workers

Make a real difference in the lives of youth with Taproot Community Support Services in Parksville, BC. We are seeking Casual Residential Community Support Workers who will provide safe, nurturing support in a home-based setting.

In this casual on-call role, you will assist youth facing adversities by promoting health, safety, and emotional well-being. Ideal candidates are equipped with a Child and Youth Care degree or relevant experience, alongside trauma-informed practice skills. You will join a dedicated team working in various shifts, focusing on education, mental wellness, and life skills development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and set goals for youth progress

• Teach social skills through daily activities

• Monitor safety and promote overall well-being

• Provide crisis intervention and emotional support

• Advocate and liaise with families and communities

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Child and Youth Care or related field

• Minimum two years relevant experience

• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License

• CPR/First Aid and WHMIS certificates

• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification
