The Infant Development Consultant (IDC) is a member of the Child Development Services (CDS) team, providing integrated, multidisciplinary, family-centered developmental services and supports to the children and families within the service delivery area.

The Infant Development Program (IDP) provides services to families with children, birth to three years of age, who have an identified diagnosis, are delayed in one or more areas of development, or who are at risk of delay. Intervention is guided by a family centered philosophy and includes assessment, treatment planning and implementation of established goals, providing resource information, and referral to, and coordination with, additional services.

The program supports families by providing home visiting and outreach services; however, services may also be offered at the child development center. The program also allows for the provision of other services such as groups and educational programs. Additionally, the IDC collaborates with and builds on the community’s existing programs and services.
