Job Description :

Summary

Provides instructional training related to 911 Telecommunications/Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) from nationally certified 911 curriculum.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for providing instruction and preparing lesson plans based on nationally certified 911 curriculum
  • Delivers training related to the Public Safety Telecommunications program
  • Continually promotes students’ development and effective use of skills in areas such as critical and analytical thinking, evaluation, communication, professionalism, customer service, computation, problem solving, and decision-making
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date records of student academic and attendance performance
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • Associate’s Degree
    • Significant related experience may substitute for education
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Public Safety Communications
  • Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Word Processing and PowerPoint Presentation software, as well as Internet and Email basic skills
  • Ability to assess and grade the progress of students
  • Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills
  • Possess sensitivity to respond appropriately to the community

Preferred Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
  • Associate’s Degree and certification in Telecommunications and EMD
  • Must be able to obtain all required Instructor certifications within 60 days of hire date

  • The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment;

  • Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite

Note:

This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, with the following Set Rate of Pay: $25.00/ hour.

If hired, you must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands upon the employment start date and throughout the duration of your employment with the College, as outlined in 3354:1-40-01.1 Recruitment and Selection Procedure .
