Spring Musical Director

• Preparation for the Spring Musical will begin in the second semester with the performances scheduled for March 23 (Dress Rehearsal), 24, 25, & 26, 2026
• Compensation:
  Director - $3,480

The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland and Holy Name High School are pleased to accept applications for the position of Spring Musical Director. Founded in 1914, Holy Name High School is a diocesan-sponsored, co-educational, comprehensive high school with a college preparatory emphasis and is committed to leading young adults to Christ by educating them in mind, body, and spirit. With a population of more than 687 students in grades nine through twelve, Holy Name High School provides young men and women with a nurturing and supportive educational environment in which to grow academically, spiritually, socially, and morally.

• Direct and coordinate the Spring Musical production
• Provide student instruction and workshops in theater
• Recruit students to join theater
• Hold regular meetings, auditions, and rehearsals
• Cast the production
• Responsible for set design, props, costumes, construction, and painting
• Coordinate production with Music Department staff
• Coordinate sound and lighting for performances
  
  Advertise for performances
• Communicate with parents, staff, and administration on schedule, rehearsals, and use of facilities.

• Past experience with theater, especially focusing on musicals, and/or actual involvement in theatrical productions
• Knowledge of all aspects of a theatrical program
• Knowledge of methods for teaching acting and the theater process
• Ability to motivate high school-aged youth and gain their respect
• Commitment to the teachings and traditions of the Catholic Church and to best practices in Catholic education
• Familiarity with Catholic teachings, traditions, and policies, which apply to formation and development of high school-aged youth
• The position requires VIRTUS certification and FBI/BCI background check
