Weekend/Holiday rotation required for full and part-time positions.

A Brief Overview

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing high‑quality computed tomography (CT) imaging procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role involves operating CT equipment, ensuring patient safety, and providing exceptional patient care. The CT Technologist collaborates with radiologists, referring physicians, and other healthcare team members to deliver accurate imaging results in a timely manner. They must maintain compliance with organizational policies, as well as state and federal regulations, and uphold standards of practice in radiation safety and patient confidentiality.

You Will Do
  • Demonstrates successful technical/patient skills by efficiently implementing CT scanning protocols and procedures in Diagnostic CT according to expected service excellence standards.
  • Collaborates effectively and in a timely manner with coworkers, staff and patients while displaying a positive attitude.
  • Takes responsibility for self‑development and supports a learning environment.
  • Adheres to ALARA, Image Gently, Image Wisely standards and hospital CT safety standards.
  • Consistently follow hospital and department guidelines for patient identification and safety.
  • Demonstrates competency in patient and technical imaging skills by producing a variety of radiological procedures while maintaining the highest standard of care independently and collaboratively.
  • Displays a commitment to hospital mission and values.
  • Maintains licensure and continuing education requirements.
  • Uses administrative skills to contribute to the successful operation of the department.
  • Effectively communicates with ordering providers and/or radiologists to properly protocol patient studies.
  • Ensures all equipment is functioning and demonstrates ability to initiate service repair process.
  • Refer to competency for all essential duties.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Education
  • Associate's Degree Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology program (Required) or
  • Other Accredited Program:
    Graduate of an Accredited Radiologic Technology program (Required)
Work Experience
  • 1+ years as CT technologist (Preferred) or
  • 1+ years as a registered technologist (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Uses a variety of equipment specific to the area, including CT scanners, power injectors, and various computers. (Required proficiency)
  • Use EMR and Radiology RIS systems to send and obtain patient information for care. (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to perform procedures specific to area. (Required proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) (Required Upon Hire)
  • Registered Technologist Radiography (ARRT‑R) and current Ohio Department of Health license. (Required Upon Hire)
  • Within one year of eligibility to sit for exam (Required within 1 Year)
  • Current Ohio Department of Health license. (Required Upon Hire)
