Job Description SummaryProvides academic support to respiratory care program students. Works directly with students in one-on-one, small groups, and classroom settings. Supports the program’s objectives and initiatives as directed.
Essential Functions- Directly supervise Respiratory Care Program students in homework/practice labs, ensuring adherence to lab rules, policies and procedures
- Ensure the lab provides a safe learning environment
- Assist in the development of educational action plans
- Assist with individual and/or small group tutoring sessions
- Utilize various types of audio-visual materials, computer applications, and other instructional delivery systems
- Assist in recruitment and retention of program students
- May supervise Work-Study students and Student Assistants
- Visit classes or consult with faculty as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience/Training
- Associate’s degree in respiratory care technology from an accredited institution recognized by the USDE
- Current State of Ohio license and RRT credential verified by the National Board for Respiratory Care
- Minimum 2 years’ clinical experience as an RRT
- Working knowledge of respiratory care concepts and ability to apply in various situations
- Demonstrated knowledge of exemplary instructional methods and practices
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to foster a team environment and work collaboratively
- Commitment to providing exemplary customer service
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Proficiency in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, evaluation, and counseling
- Sensitivity to respond to the needs of the community

- Pediatric/neonatal clinical experience
The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated. The employee may sit for long periods and perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard. Some walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items may be required. Travel to meetings and conferences away from the worksite may be necessary.

Special Note: This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, Grade 08, with a Minimum Hiring Rate of $20.00/hour. If hired, you must reside in Ohio and be within commuting distance of this work location/campus to respond to onsite work demands.
