Job OverviewAs a member of our team, you will manage the full lifecycle of government proposal responses, ensuring timely, compliant and compelling submissions in support of our Naval Systems Business Unit. The role demands hands‑on leadership, attention to detail and cross‑functional collaboration in a fast‑paced, small‑business environment.
Key Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience with proposal administration and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a sharp eye for detail in format and consistency.
- In‑depth knowledge of FAR, DFARS and federal procurement practices.
- Demonstrated business acumen.
- Ability to manage multiple, concurrent proposals with minimal oversight.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong documentation and timeline management.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Experience with Salesforce CRM and Epicor ERP is highly desirable.
- Eligibility to obtain or maintain a security clearance.
- Manage the business unit’s major proposal responses from receipt of qualified RFx through final submission.
- Act as the de‑facto Bid Manager for front‑end efforts arising from ongoing customer dialogue.
- Develop proposal strategies, storyboards, win themes and content.
- Prepare business development and project‑specific presentations using PowerPoint and graphic tools.
- Coordinate proposal efforts with internal teams (Supply Chain, Contracts, Subcontractors, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Finance, HR).
- Monitor proposal development status, ensuring documents are complete, compliant and include win themes and discriminators.
- Work with Executive Management, Sales and Engineering to develop compliant, highly successful proposals.
- Maintain proposal pipeline and forecast database, including Salesforce tracking.
- Coordinate pricing meetings and secure internal approvals.
- Continuously improve the company’s proposal process.
- Assemble the deliverable proposal package with all required data.
- Report performance metrics, including on‑time delivery per Bid Manager/RFx.
- Track OTD % of all business unit quotes and proposals, reviewing trends.
- Research and analyze spare parts / aftermarket business.
- Capture lessons learned during the proposal lifecycle.
- Contribute to process improvements in relevant areas.
- Occasional exposure to typical manufacturing environment.
- Business office environment requiring telephone and personal computer.
- High demand, fast‑paced office environment.
- Work calmly and professionally under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Limited travel (< 25%).
This position is located at our Parsippany, NJ corporate office. Compensation includes a competitive base salary of $87,600–$98,900 per year, incentive compensation, a comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with match), tuition assistance, paid vacation, sick and personal days, paid holidays and flexible scheduling options.
