A Buyer manages the full procurement lifecycle—from sourcing through contract negotiation to delivery—ensuring cost‑effectiveness, quality, and inventory alignment with organizational needs. The role controls costs, maintains inventory flow, fosters strong supplier relationships, and aligns procurement strategies with business goals.

Responsibilities
  • Identify, research, and assess suppliers by quality, cost, reliability, and sustainability.
  • Secure favorable pricing, terms, and delivery schedules through negotiations.
  • Create and manage manual orders, track all orders, ensure on‑time delivery, and maintain accurate records.
  • Monitor market trends and pricing to inform purchasing strategies and uncover cost savings.
  • Build and maintain supplier partnerships; evaluate performance and address issues.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with inventory control, finance, sales, and operations to align buying decisions.
  • Promote procurement programs through multiple channels, coordinate recommendations, and provide guidance and direction as needed.
Qualifications
  • Ensures delivery of high‑quality customer service.
  • Is organized, self‑disciplined, technologically savvy, compliant, and communicates timely and effectively at all levels.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field (preferred).
  • Previous experience and familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the purchasing field (preferred).
  • 1+ years of administrative experience.
  • 1+ years of procurement/buying experience.
  • Optional credentials like CIPS, CPSM, CPP, CSCP.
  • Experience may vary by industry (retail, manufacturing, construction, etc.).
