Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Press Operator with hands‑on experience operating the Xerox Iridesse Production Press
. The ideal candidate has strong prepress expertise, a sharp eye for color and detail, and the ability to prepare, adjust, and troubleshoot production files. Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite is required to ensure accurate file setup, corrections, and consistency across all print jobs. This role combines digital press operation with prepress production to support a fast‑paced print and marketing environment.

Key Responsibilities Digital Press Operation
  • Operate and maintain the Xerox Iridesse Production Press, including daily calibration, color profiling, and routine maintenance.
  • Set up print jobs, manage queues, and monitor output for quality, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot press issues quickly to minimize downtime.
  • Manage media types, specialty stocks, and finishing requirements.
  • Ensure proper use of metallics, spot colors, varnishes, and other Iridesse specialty capabilities.
  • Track production metrics and maintain a clean, organized press area.
Prepress & File Preparation
  • Review client‑supplied artwork for accuracy, resolution, bleed, color profiles, and print readiness.
  • Perform file adjustments such as color correction, trapping, imposition, and proofing.
  • Prepare variable data print (VDP) files when needed.
  • Preflight all incoming digital assets and resolve file issues prior to production.
  • Work with designers and account managers to ensure proper file setup and output expectations.
  • Manage digital asset organization and version control.
  • Produce digital proofs and communicate layout or color concerns effectively.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience operating a digital press;
    Xerox Iridesse experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of digital print production, substrates, finishing, and color management.
  • Experience working in a marketing print production environment highly preferred.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Understanding of CMYK, spot color workflows, ICC profiles, and RIP software.
  • Experience with VDP platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to troubleshoot press, RIP, and file issues quickly and independently.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail, quality‑driven mindset, and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with Fiery Command Work Station (or similar digital front end).
  • Familiarity with metallic and specialty toner workflows unique to the Iridesse.
  • Knowledge of finishing equipment (cutting, binding, laminating, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of color calibration tools.
