Haley & Aldrich invites applications for the Project Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist, or Geologist position in our dynamic engineering and science teams.

In this role you will be a key team member on both office and field assignments, leading portions of technical project work from scoping through final deliverables under senior staff direction. Core responsibilities include site and subsurface characterization, sampling, data analysis, technical reporting, client communication, and safety compliance.

• Split time between field and office assignments.
• Lead portions of technical work from scoping to deliverables.
• Apply academic and industry knowledge to execute projects.
• Perform site reconnaissance and plan/assess subsurface explorations.
• Oversee and monitor subsurface activities (borings, geoprobes, test pits).
• Conduct soil and groundwater sampling per ASTM, company, and industry standards.
• Compile, analyze, and summarize data using spreadsheets and digital tools.
• Prepare detailed documentation and synthesize findings.
• Prepare technical deliverables, including reports, proposals, cost estimates, and Phase I & II ESAs.
• Train, guide, and mentor junior staff informally.
• Participate in client, agency, and internal communications.
• Prepare permit applications.
• Perform all work in accordance with company and client safety protocols.
• Demonstrate foundational safety behaviors.

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or related field.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient at writing technical reports.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.
• Desire to learn, positive attitude, strong work ethic, resourcefulness, flexibility, ownership.
• Proficiency with GIS.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools and strong data management skills.
• Physical capability to lift 50 lbs.; navigate unstable sites; work outdoors in varied weather; moderate physical stamina for field work.
• Ability to travel and stay overnight as required.

• Master’s degree in the relevant discipline.
• Professional certification or plan to obtain a professional certification.
• Experience with Phase I/II ESAs and regulatory review.
• Experience developing conceptual site models.
• Design, construction, and O&M experience with environmental or geotechnical remediation.
• OSHA 40‑Hour HAZWOPER training.

Salary Range: Parsippany, Cherry Hill, Princeton – $57,000–$81,000 annually. Compensation varies by education, experience, certifications, skills, and market conditions.
