Machine Operator I

Duration: 01/30/2017 to 01/28/2018

Pay Rate: $12.50/hr

Location: Parsippany, NJ, USA, 07054

The ECM Operator will:

• Observe company safety rules and regulations.
• Operate previously set-up electrical electro-chemical machines, such as salt or acid to shape-cut metal work pieces under direct supervision.
• Examine operation sheets of product and plan operation of machine for basic types of ECM operations.
• Dress electrodes according to standard practices and part requirements, and identify any conditions that will render an electrode unusable.
• Position and secure work pieces on electrical electro-chemical machine table with clamps, vices, or fixtures. Perform minor adjustments to set-up of electrodes to ensure concentricity, alignment, and depth of electrode to workpiece using measuring instruments such as calipers, dial indicators, or computer machine controllers.
• Adjust machine settings such as voltage, current, frequency, and electrode feed rate based on charts, operation sheets, data cards, or knowledge of ECM procedures. Adjust flow of acid or salt solution over electrodes and workpiece by turning valves.
• Start the machine and monitor operation, making adjustments as necessary to ensure smooth operation. Frequently check on machine and electrodes throughout the process.
