Security Officer - 2nd shift (Sunday‑Wednesday)

Base pay: $16.50/hr – $18.00/hr

About the Position: As a Security Officer with Cologix you will provide a physical layer of security at all Cologix locations. You will implement policies and procedures pertaining to the safety and security of Cologix employees, guests and facilities. Shift available:
Sunday‑Wednesday 2 pm – 12 am.

• Verify the identities of employees, customers and visitors entering and exiting the facility.
• Monitor all interior and exterior cameras, immediately addressing any policy infractions, emergency situations or suspicious activity.
• Control the access of permitted visitors and provide them with temporary access (visitor badges); deny individuals who do not meet the entry criteria.
• Keep an accurate log of all visitors/vendors that have gained entry to the facility in the People Tracker system.
• Conduct numerous physical security checks per shift, patrolling the interior and exterior of your assigned building for unsecured doors/windows, signs of tampering or unauthorized individuals; document all findings.
• Monitor entry access and fire systems for all pertinent alarms, responding accordingly.
• Notify the proper local authorities (police department, fire department, rapid response) in the event of an emergency situation.
• Act as a first responder in the event of a medical emergency.
• Perform shipping and receiving duties using defined processes.
• Respond to job tickets, cases and emails within the security department in a timely manner.
• Ensure all security offices, equipment and loading docks are clean and organized.
• Seek guidance from the Security Supervisor when help is needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or GED and one or more years of related experience and/or training.
• Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) license preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Must be punctual, reliable, flexible and willing to work additional hours when necessary to meet the demands of the department.
