• Coordinate data collection from verbal instructions, sketches, drawings, or engineering specifications and incorporate this information into working plans, layouts and detailed drawings.
• Follow current company procedures and standards to ensure drawings are completed with quality and consistency.
• Work from notes, verbal instructions, sketches, and drawings to prepare working plans, layouts, and detailed drawings; review and resolve design details not completely defined.
• Determine the best combination of preliminary information and contributing data to develop the final design.
• Develop specifications, designs or drawings using engineering principles and established company standards, procedures, and instructions.
• Follow CAD best practices for model creation, drawing creation, file management and revision control to complete projects with minimal errors.
• Verify completed work, check dimensions, Bills of Materials, materials to be used, quantities, and processing information; ensure adherence to best practices.
• Provide scheduling, costing and technical information concerning the designs supported, as well as status updates to internal departments and external vendors.
• Resolve mechanical and fabrication problems with designed or purchased parts used in a design; document changes per engineering change procedures.
• Provide regular feedback and updates to project team members and immediate supervisor about the status of drafting tasks.
• Assist in the development of drafting automation tools; may perform other duties as assigned.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and G Suite.
• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and/or AutoCAD 2018 or later.
• Solid problem-solving skills; able to manage multi-task work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work proactively and independently on a broad variety of projects from multiple product lines.
• Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with colleagues; provide mentorship and guidance to other drafting positions.
• Ability to complete most projects with minimal technical assistance.
• Detailed understanding of bolted tanks and/or aluminum geodesic domes.

• Associates Degree or Technical Certification preferred.
• 5-10 years of relevant drafting experience required.
