Team Leader for Caregiver/Direct Support Provider for Individuals with Disabilities Along Life’s Journey ("Coach")

Pay: $45,000 per year

The Team Leader ensures they and their team members advocate for persons with disabilities to become as independent as possible in integrated settings within the community. The team promotes self-advocacy, empowers clients, establishes lifestyle choices, and provides care, training, and supervision.
Develop client goals and objectives, coach required skills and behaviors, assist in accessing support services, and advocate to eliminate barriers to community inclusion and employment.
Bridge between management and non‑management staff: communicate goals and policies, gather staff feedback, ensure required training is completed, promote teamwork, and implement personnel policies.
Conduct employee performance evaluations, potentially participate on the County Steering Team.
QualificationsEducation: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Associate degree in a Human Services related area preferred.
Experience: Supervisory experience in the Human Services field preferred. Experience with persons with disabilities required.
Other Requirements:
- Maintain a current and valid driver’s license and be determined as an "insurable driver" by the automobile insurance carrier for CLASS unless other arrangements can be made in advance.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws regarding communicable and infectious diseases and CLASS policies, rules, and practices regarding medical examination or immunizations.
- No records of convictions, administrative findings or history of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children or adults unable to protect their own interest, and conviction of other crimes, including, but not limited to crimes against persons, sex crimes, crimes against property, violation of personal rights, public safety, public morals, or any crimes that would be classified in Kansas as a felony or deemed unacceptable for employment with CLASS.
- Be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. when necessary.
- Be able to assist with one- and two-person transfers, if assigned to work with persons requiring that type of support.
- Ability to operate a Braun lift (van) and to maneuver wheelchairs in a van and place them in wheel-locks when necessary.
- Ability to process basic mathematical calculations to complete billing documents.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to read and comprehend written materials such as company policies and procedures.
- Ability to compose written material as required for case notes, individual plans, etc.
- Works and honors commitments to participate as an effective member on team(s) (e.g., specialty teams, PCP teams) to which assigned.
- Accomplishes the Performance Improvement Objectives agreed upon at the previous performance evaluation.
- Flexible work schedule and availability to provide on-call coverage as needed.
- Pre-employment testing will be required.
