Job Summary
The Food Service Assistant is responsible for monitoring and recording proper temperature of food, setting up and maintaining a clean and sanitized serving area, preparing and serving food items, restocking food areas, cleaning and sanitizing equipment, receiving payment for food and beverages using a computerized register and other related responsibilities. The role complies with HACCP guidelines for food service and provides outstanding customer service while effectively communicating with patrons and co-workers.

The assistant maintains quality control standards, may operate equipment such as grills, beverage machines, toasters, ice cream dispensers, cash registers, steam equipment, dishwashers, and refrigerators, and is expected to work independently, read, write, and follow oral and written directions, perform basic math, and be on feet for the majority of the day. Experience in the food industry is preferred.

Qualifications
Minimum of 16 years of age. Previous customer service experience, retail counting, and reconciliation of money and knowledge of food service preferred. Ability to read, write, follow oral and written directions, perform basic math, and on-the-job training will be provided. Depending on location, Serv Safe certification may be required within a designated time frame;
Basic Life Support (BLS) may also be required.
