• Summary:
  
  The PRN Armed Security Guard is responsible for protective services at Labette Health campuses, assisting patients, and providing excellent customer service. This PRN position offers flexible, random hours throughout the week and weekends, providing armed security for hospital campuses during routine operations and special events, on or off campus, in accordance with law.

• Requires two (2) years of experience as a state-certified law enforcement officer, certified armed correctional officer, or licensed armed security guard, with a preference for those with military service, and must be at least 21 years old.
• Must not have been discharged from the military under dishonorable or other than honorable conditions.
• Must have a valid Kansas driver’s license and a good driving history.
• Must be of good moral character, pass a background check, and undergo a mental health evaluation similar to law enforcement assessments, with a recommendation for armed security service.
• No felony, drug-related, domestic violence, or other criminal convictions that could disqualify firearm carrying.
• Must pass a firearms marksmanship qualification similar to law enforcement evaluations.
• Must have completed the Basic Level of healthcare security and safety training within the last 5 years, or obtain certification from the International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) within the first month of employment, with recertification every 5 years.
• Must pass a physical fitness standard for Armed Security Guards, set by the organization, before hiring and every two years thereafter.
