What we do

Merantix Momentum is a Berlin-based AI startup focusing on accelerating AI adoption across many industries through B2B solutions, as well as publicly funded research projects. We work across several domains, including automotive, manufacturing, retail, healthcare and many more, transforming businesses as an external machine learning department. We achieve this using our core expertise in state‑of‑the‑art machine learning combined with our culture of rapid iterations to build scalable solutions.

This is a talent pool position open to multiple seniority levels. We are building a strong pipeline of Machine Learning Engineers to connect with when opportunities arise at Merantix Momentum. By joining our talent pool, you'll be among the first to be considered when we have openings that match your profile.

• Scoping machine learning projects and assessing their technical feasibility through client interaction;

• Implementing machine learning methods and applying them to real‑world use cases;

• Contributing to the development and evolution of our internal AI stack and open source ecosystem;

• Collaborating with data, backend, and frontend engineers to build production‑ready AI solutions;

• Driving machine learning projects from ideation through to the production phase.

The ideal candidate is proficient in software engineering and the latest machine learning and deep learning technologies. You will independently scope, plan, manage, and drive machine learning projects from ideation to production.

You are a great fit for our team if this describes you:

• MSc or PhD in computer science, Machine Learning, or related technical field;

• Strong programming skills in Python with experience in Deep Learning tasks and libraries like PyTorch;

• Experience with one or more cloud providers (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure);

• Proven ability to independently complete complex, real‑world technical projects;

• Experience in time series analysis and at least one of the following:
  Computer Vision and/or Natural Language Processing and/or Graph Neural Networks and/or Reinforcement Learning and/or Causal Inference;

• Appreciation for sound engineering practices, including version control, clean code, code review, testing, CI/CD, and automation;

• Strong ability to interact with clients, understand their problems, and design and explain complex technical solutions;

• Fluency in English (German is a plus).
