Lifeguard- PRN

Overview

Lifeguard position within Rehabilitation Services (MBF-Aquatics). This position is responsible for supervising aquatic therapy and fitness sessions and ensuring the safety of patients, members, and staff using the swimming pools. The Lifeguard will enforce rules, respond to emergencies, maintain pool cleanliness, and assist with facility operations.

• Monitor pool activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations
• Warn swimmers of hazardous or inappropriate behavior
• Perform rescues and provide emergency care as needed
• Conduct water sample testing and maintain proper chemical levels
• Clean pools and surrounding areas
• Maintain accurate documentation related to pool operations
• Follow instructions from the Rehabilitation Services staff
• Communicate potential hazards and reinforce safety rules with pool users

• Strong observational skills and ability to react quickly in emergencies
• Knowledge of lifesaving techniques, water hazards, and safety protocols
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Physical stamina to remain alert and active while on duty

• Current First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• High school diploma (preferred)
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Previous lifeguard or aquatic safety experience (preferred)
