We are currently hiring for the  school year for PUSD Expanded Learning Program. Mathnasium is partnered with Pasadena Unified School District to provide an after-school on campus math enrichment opportunity for PUSD schools in our area. The program will run from Monday - Friday from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

The ideal candidate will be bright and ambitious, with an enthusiastic, outgoing personality and excellent professional interpersonal skills. Candidates should possess a strong grasp of math concepts and enjoy working in a fun and friendly team environment. Math Instructors receive training on curriculum knowledge and the Mathnasium Method to deliver effective and concise instruction to students of all ages. Instructors contribute to an engaging and productive learning environment, foster positive interactions with students and parents to build confidence and demonstrate program value, assist in evaluating and tracking student progress, and maintain clear communication with the Center Director and fellow team members.

• Supervise and manage the program serving up to 12 students per hour with 2 instructors, in collaboration with school staff and the Mathnasium Leadership Team
• Deliver high-quality math instruction to students using the Mathnasium Method
• Work with students of all ages and skill levels, from kindergarten to middle school
• Assist in creating and managing personalized learning plans for students
• Mentor, train, and support a team of instructors, providing guidance and feedback
• Monitor student progress and communicate updates to team leadership
• Maintain a welcoming and supportive learning environment
• Collaborate with Mathnasium's Leadership Team and school representatives to ensure smooth daily operations

• Strong understanding of arithmetic and algebra
• Excellent work ethic
• Willingness to learn
• Within one year of earning your high school diploma
• Available to work at least 4 weekdays (5 preferred)
• Must be available to work until the end of the school year (early to mid-June)

• Experience working with children as a tutor, teacher, or instructor
• Pursuing a degree in education, math, science, or a related field
• Ability to teach up to Algebra 1 (Geometry is a plus)
• Strong classroom or group management skills
• Ability to build rapport with students and parents
• Clear communication skills with students, families, and team members
• Organized and detail-oriented
• Leadership experience is a plus

Washington Elementary :

Tuesday - Friday from 2:15 - 4:45 pm

Webster Elementary :

Monday - Thursday from 2:30 - 5:00 pm

2101 E Washington Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91104

Lead instructors must be available to work minimum of 4 weekdays, preferably 5 weekdays each week AND must be available for the entirety of program hours.

This is an in-person on campus, part-time position, with lead instructors typically working between 16 to 20 hours per week. While hours may vary, we aim to accommodate as many shifts as you are available for.
