The Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients in accordance with the physician's prescription. The role is located at Cedars-Sinai Orthopaedics at Huntington Health in Pasadena, California. 800 S Raymond, Pasadena, CA 91105.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs evaluations appropriate to established procedures. Ensure there is a prescription/order for all evaluations and use relevant tests and standardized measures congruent to best practice.
• Develops a comprehensive plan of care supported by evaluation findings and prognosticates patient outcomes/progress, integrating all relevant factors.
• Manages the physical therapy care of the patient and coordinates with others to ensure the patient receives total care needed.
• Completes all required documentation accurately and timely.
• Utilizes treatment interventions within the scope of practice and plan of care, integrating evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes tailored to specific populations.
• Identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment, including protection of self and others.
• Reviews risks and benefits of therapy and obtains consent from patient and/or caregiver.
• Identify and facilitate discharge needs including documentation, communication with care team, and follow-up recommendations.
• Contribute ideas to improve processes, procedures, methods, and productivity; participate in quality improvement efforts.
• Engage in professional development through clinical education, mentoring, and ongoing development of clinical competencies.
• Serve as a clinical instructor/mentor in accordance with relevant discipline, regulatory, and professional context.

Qualifications

• Educational Requirements: Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program;
  Doctorate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program is highly preferred.
• License/Certification: Current and valid physical therapist license per California State requirements;
  Current American Heart Association or Red Cross Basic Life Support certification required.
• Other: Vestibular/Balance experience is highly preferred.
