Registered Nurse , Per Diem, Psychiatric - ICU

Registered Nurse 12HR, Per Diem, Psychiatric - ICU (7:00 am – 7:00 pm) – Huntington Health

• Coordinate care to meet identified needs of patients and families.
• Supervise patient care management using critical thinking, nursing process, discharge planning, resource identification, linking and scheduling patients with required services.
• Monitor care delivery, advocate for patients, plan care, and evaluate outcomes.
• Coordinate patient care across the health care continuum and assist other team members in meeting individual patient needs.
• Provide therapeutic structure and assist staff therapists in group settings.
• Provide patient education.
• Assist in planning and providing care to meet developmental needs of patient populations.
• Enforce safety policies and procedures.
• Follow applicable guidelines during events such as Code Gray, Seclusion and Restraints, and other Codes.
• Cross‑trained and competent to work on any DMC inpatient unit.

May require flexibility of hours.

• Bachelor’s degree (BSN) required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) considered if enrolled in a BSN program with completion within 2 years of hire or transfer to RN position.
• Diploma or transcripts of highest degree earned required.

• Minimum 1 year of current experience in acute care; 2 years preferred.
• Basic computer skills and experience with computerized documentation systems required.

• Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
• Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association.
• Preferred:
  Current unrestricted Registered Nurse-Board Certified (RN‑BC).

• Ensures all patients' rights are intact, reporting violations and complaints to Psychiatric Unit Shift Supervisor.
• Provides patient education.
• Continually updates knowledge base on special needs of patient populations served.
• Assists in planning and providing care to meet developmental needs of patient populations.
• Provides supervision to each team member on the unit/shift (PCA, LVN, LPT, Sitter).
• Enforces safety policies and procedures carried out by team members.
• Follows applicable guidelines and policies during codes such as Code Gray, Seclusion and Restraints, others.
• Cross‑trained and competent to work on any DMC inpatient unit.

Base rate $50.38 – $71.95 per shift. Differential, extra shift incentives, bonuses may apply. Estimated blended hourly rate: $58.78 – $83.94.
