Fair Oaks Women’s Health, which is part of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Network, is looking for an Ob/Gyn Nurse Practitioner to join our busy suburban private practice. We currently have 9 Ob/Gyn Physicians, 2 of whom are Gyn only. We perform more than 700 deliveries per year, all at Huntington Hospital which is next door to our office. Our 10,000 square-foot office consists of 3 waiting rooms, 29 exam rooms, 3 ultrasound rooms, a 6-bed NST unit and an in-house lab.

Our Nurse Practitioner performs a vital role in our group’s dedication to deliver effective and efficient quality health care services to its patients. Together, the collaborative Physicians and NP will share responsibility for the health and welfare of our Gynecology members.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Follow protocols which provide medical authority when such are indicated in providing care.
  • Perform complete physical exams and assessments of patients including urgent, emergent, and non-urgent presentation.
  • Select, order, and perform tests and procedures to augment physical findings.
  • Define/document differential diagnoses and list differential diagnoses with most likely diagnosis included.
  • Write orders for tests, procedures, and the implementation and management of therapies by following company protocols.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as deemed necessary and appropriate for plan of care, in collaboration with supervising physician.
  • Interpret data and diagnostic results for appropriate course of action including but not limited to blood gasses, radiology, EKG, etc.
  • Notate findings and treatment course in patient chart including follow-up notes.
  • NP will assist with minor procedures including endometrial biopsies.
  • Our NP will also have a large role in overall patient education.
  • Our Nurse Practitioner will address the following in-office topics/chief complaints while working alongside another NP and our nine physicians: AUB (abnormal bleeding), Bartholin Gland, Annual Exam (breast exam, pelvic exam), Ectopic Pregnancy, EMB, IUD Insertion & Removal, Mife (“abortion pill”), Nexplanon Insertion & Removal, UTI (urinary tract infections), Vulvar Biopsy, Infertility counseling, birth control consults, STD testing/counseling, Pelvic pain and Pessary checks.

    Will assist OB Physician patients with NST’s (non-stress tests) to determine if patients can be taken off monitoring.
  • Physician in-basket management
  • This is a 5/8's schedule – Monday through Friday. There is no calls or weekends
Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner’s program required

License/Certification:

  • Current unrestricted NP license issued by the State of California required
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Certificate required
  • Basic Life Support certificate from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Experience:

  • Minimum one (1) year experience as a Nurse Practitioner is strongly preferred in OB/GYN
