Description

About the NASA Postdoctoral Program
The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly‑talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or a NASA‑affiliated research institute. These one‑ to three‑year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.

Research Focus
The heating of the solar corona and acceleration of the solar wind is a fundamental problem in space science. The proposed fellow will model the energy storage and dissipation in the outer solar atmosphere and wind through analytical modeling and/or numerical simulations at either the large MHD scales or the smaller kinetic scales involving nonlinear wave‑particle interactions.
