Overview

Boiling Point Group - PA - Pasadena is hiring a Cook Trainee.

Location:

18 W Green St, Pasadena, CA, 91105.

Employment type:

Part-time or Full-time. Hourly range: $19.04 - $20.04 per hour. We are looking to expand and are in need of candidates with a positive, motivated attitude that would love to grow with the company. We would love for you to join us and be part of the Boiling Point family!

Purpose & Summary

To provide patron satisfaction in our restaurant that revolves around preparing food for recipe execution, appearance, and quality of food to lead to an overall great dining experience for the patrons.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Prepare all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
  • Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by BP’s gold standard
  • Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of how to properly use and maintain all equipment in the station
  • Maintain and operate equipment and machines to prepare food, including powering on and off at the beginning and close of the shift
  • Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
  • Verify that prepared food meets BP requirements for quality
  • Maintain personal health and sanitation standards
  • Be knowledgeable of all safety codes per BP's guidelines
  • Ensure compliance with BP’s code of ethics, integrity and conduct
Minimum Qualifications
  • Preferred 1+ year of experience working in a restaurant environment, preferably as a cook
  • Friendly attitude with excellent customer service skills
  • Able to multitask and work in a team environment
  • Proficient in computer knowledge including MS Office Suite products
  • High School diploma preferred
  • All candidates are subject to a background check and employment verification process
Physical Demands
  • Ability to continuously stand or walk
  • Ability to bend and lift occasionally
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently
Work Environment
  • Work will be conducted in a restaurant environment
  • May encounter temperatures ranging from 32 degrees to 425 degrees around equipment in the kitchen if needed to enter that area
  • May occasionally walk on slippery surfaces
  • Noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud
