Patient Care Technician
Under frequent supervision, transports patients, supplies and equipment to and from all departments within the medical center. Expedites Emergency Department room turnover and patient placement. Patients served include infant to adult geriatric.
Required Skills And ExperienceHigh School diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to read and write English. Current CPR certification required or obtained prior to providing direct patient care.
Physical RequirementsRequires walking 80% of the time with frequent stooping and bending. Requires pushing, pulling and maneuvering stretchers and wheelchairs weighing in excess of 100 lbs. 80 % of the time in accordance with Safe Patient Lifting policy. Requires lifting and carrying equipment and supplies weighing in excess of 30 lbs. Requires ability to communicate verbally with patients, medical center staff, physicians and other customers.
Requires visual acuity for reading patient logs, identification bracelets, etc. Ability to hear spectra link phone to receive transport request.
