Responsibilities- Manage sales and operation of the Produce Department.
- Maintain quality control, merchandising, cleanliness, and organization.
- Oversee inventory management.
- Co‑coach, evaluate and develop team members; conduct bi‑annual performance reviews.
- Attend and participate in store meetings.
- Recruit, hire and make promotion/transfer decisions with the Store Manager.
- Handle team member concerns, taking corrective actions such as coaching, counseling, discipline, or termination when necessary.
- Create and adjust schedules to maximize productivity.
- Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
- Lead a team that delivers high‑quality products and outstanding customer experience.
- Serve as a Key Carrier and/or Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.
- At least 18 years old; 1–3 years experience in a grocery retail setting with produce management.
- Basic math, weights and measures knowledge.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
- Ability to perform housekeeping; clean and sanitize work area.
- Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights & Measures regulations.
- Physical ability: standing, walking, bending, climbing; lift up to 50 lb. between 10‑50 hrs without assistance; use pallet jack up to 20 ft; maneuver six‑wheel carts and walk up to 5 mi in an 8‑hr shift.
- Maintain Food Handlers permit.
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays.
- Working knowledge of personnel, margin, sales, and financial reports.
- Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude toward team members and customers.
$21.40 – $34.25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
