Pay RangeBase pay: $24.00/yr - $27.00/yr
Position PurposeThe Equipment Mechanic maintains, diagnoses, and repairs a variety of heavy construction equipment used on job sites. This role ensures machinery operates efficiently and safely to meet project demands. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, experience with heavy equipment, and can troubleshoot complex systems with minimal supervision. Physical labor in an outdoor environment is required.
Essential Job Functions- Equipment Maintenance and Repair:
Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, forklifts, cranes, pumps, and other construction machinery to ensure optimal performance. - Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
Identify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic system issues using diagnostic tools and technical expertise, then develop and execute repair plans efficiently. - Parts and Inventory Management:
Assess parts requirements for repairs, coordinate with the parts department or suppliers, and maintain adequate inventory levels. - Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies during repairs and equipment operation, ensuring work is performed with a focus on safety and quality. - Record Keeping:
Maintain detailed internal repair orders and documentation for all equipment repairs and maintenance performed, reporting findings and recommendations to supervisors and project management.
High school diploma or GED preferred with three (3) years of equipment repair experience. May be required to retain a valid DOT medical card.

This role operates on a construction site in all weather conditions throughout the year, using standard construction tools.
Physical Requirements- Regularly required to talk and hear, stand for extended periods, use hands to touch, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, squat, and bend over.
