Zeon has an exciting Project Engineer career opportunity in our Pasadena, Texas plant.

Responsible for the planning, procurement, execution and completion of mid‑to‑large projects. Supervises project field installation and startups to ensure established safety rules and procedures are followed, projects are completed on time and within approved project cost. Other responsibilities include:

• Designs, implements, and communicates an operational plan for completing projects including project schedules, budgets, and forecasts. Documents plan, assembles appropriation requests, and obtains organizational project approvals
• Prepares engineering designs and work specifications
• Reviews and approves drawings including flow sheets, isometrics, P&’s, layout drawings, and vendor submittals
• Develops RFP packages with appropriate selection criteria and metrics
• Ensures safe implementation of project construction by enforcing the established safety rules and procedures
• Oversees contractor activities to ensure they comply with established company standards
• Monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays
• Reviews industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, regulatory compliance, and incorporates Recognized And Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP) into designs
• Collaborates with other engineers and technical personnel and coordinates their specialized contributions to the development of the project
• Identifies, evaluates, monitors, and reports project risk according to company risk assessment policy
• Lead and participate in MOC process, safety reviews, pre‑startup safety reviews to ensure successful project execution and close out
• Responsible for maintaining project documentation, project close‑out and documentation turnover to operations and maintenance

A successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, with a minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in project management in the petrochemical industry.
• Proficiency in SAP is preferred.
• PSM experience preferred.
• Project Management Certification is desirable.
