Specialized Application Engineer (SAE)

The SAE will utilize technical expertise and Nuclear Industry experience to assist in customer solutions in specialized applications related to ASME Section III.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing proposals/bids, supporting contract negotiation and managing compliance with contract technical/commercial commitments and commercial risk assessment.
  • Supporting direct customers inquiring about the Consolidated Relief Valve product line to help achieve the North America region’s order plan.
  • Enhancing sales effectiveness across both Direct Sales and Inside Sales (Channel Partner) teams by working cross‑functionally to assess current commercial processes and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Developing commercial and technical proposals, negotiating with customers and cooperating with Sales Managers to realize orders and drive shareholder value.
  • Providing technical expertise and developing solutions (relief valve configuration, performance estimation, economics, etc.).
  • Understanding the various relief valve technologies and applying this knowledge to select the proper equipment for the industry or market.
  • Recommending and participating in continuous improvement of processes and tools for the team.
  • Coordinating across multiple functions within the valves organization to support the deal review process and ensure that all technical and commercial risks are identified, mitigated, and approved at acceptable levels and properly incorporated into the proposal.
  • Handling diverse clients in region from direct customers with various business profiles (Engineering Procurement & Construction firms, End Users, Original Equipment Manufacturers, Packagers, etc.).
  • Transferring purchase orders and highlighting critical project requirement to the orders execution team.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 5‑7 years of experience in Application Engineering or Technical Sales specific to the Nuclear Industry/Market.
  • Have knowledge and experience with Nuclear Industry Standards, understanding safety related versus non‑safety related, knowledge of SDRs, knowledge of ASME Section III Nuclear Standards, previous experience with Nuclear‑related relief valves.
