Our client, a well-established specialty trade contractor, is looking to add a Purchasing Coordinator to its operations team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys keeping materials, equipment, vendors, and project teams moving in the right direction. The company is willing to train the right person and provide opportunities to develop additional purchasing and operational expertise.

- Create and maintain purchase orders while keeping pricing, quantities, job assignments, and delivery information accurate.
- Communicate regularly with vendors regarding availability, lead times, shipping, and delivery status.
- Coordinate material and equipment deliveries between vendors, warehouses, and active project sites.
- Work closely with Project Managers to anticipate upcoming purchasing needs and keep procurement schedules on track.
- Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on outstanding or delayed items before they impact a project.
- Partner with the warehouse team to verify receipts, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Coordinate equipment shipments, returns, transfers, and warranty-related items as needed.
- Review vendor invoices and packing documentation against purchase orders and assist Accounting with discrepancies.
- Help maintain accurate purchasing records and support month-end reconciliation and reporting.
- Identify opportunities to improve vendor relationships, purchasing processes, lead times, and overall cost effectiveness.
- Utilize Oracle/Net Suite and Microsoft Office to maintain purchasing information, build reports, and analyze data.
- Participate in purchasing, accounting, and project-related meetings to stay aligned with operational priorities.
- Develop a strong understanding of the company's procurement processes, systems, vendors, and project requirements through hands-on training and professional development.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable communicating with vendors and internal teams, and takes ownership of details from purchase order through final delivery. Prior purchasing, procurement, construction, specialty contracting, or ERP experience is helpful, but the right first-year candidate with strong administrative and organizational skills will be considered.
